Launch of Aureau to the Amsterdam cocktail community
During a festive meeting on December 1 at one of Amsterdam's most prominent cocktail bars, Dutch Courage, EymardVille's brand new Vin de Liqueur Aureau was launched.
Aureau is created by Master Distiller Leon van Welie. "We created EymardVille Aureau with the dining and bar scene in mind. We had sommeliers and bartenders in mind. It's something new to surprise guests who are familiar with the usual suspects, such as dessert wines or port, for example, as an accompaniment to cheeses. Aureau offers a sweet, fruity flavour and a smooth mouthfeel, and at 27% ABV it also has a substantial body. It's great to see the surprise on people's faces when they first taste it."
Timo Janse, owner of cocktailbar Dutch Courage: "Leon is one of the most talented Dutch distillers I know. Now, alongside his fruit-based spirits and liqueurs, he has created Aureau. I vividly remember when Leon first introduced me to it, as my mind immediately started racing with ideas about how we bartenders could serve it."
Leon continues, "Timo is a true friend and we wanted to launch Aureau in an environment where we believe it really fits. That's why we accepted Timo's invitation to launch it at his Dutch Courage bar to his community."
Leon van Welie (right in the picture) proudly presented Timo Janse with the very first bottle of Aureau. Which Timo happily accepted: "I see a great future for Aureau in the cocktail scene."
At the launch party on December 1, Timo served three Aureau-based cocktails.
Hear me out, combining Aureau with Bols Corenwyn, Cherry Heering, Lemon and Allspice Dram.
On the field, blending Aureau with Lemon and Jasmine&Peach soda.
And Apple Pie sour, the favourite of the attendants, with caramel, ginger, red wine and Australian bitters.
